Angela Pirri :: Comune di Pontedera

    Angela Pirri

presidente del Consiglio comunale di Pontedera

Angela Pirri received a M.S. degree in Physics at Pisa University and she got a Ph.D. degree in Experimental Physics at the University of Siena, Italy. From 2003 to 2004 she worked on non-linear optics as Marie Curie Fellow at the Laser Centre of Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. From 2005 to 2008 she worked on the development, characterization, and applications of novel coherent sources in the extreme ultraviolet based on high-order laser harmonics, at the European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS) in Florence, Italy. She was a “visiting scientist” at ETH in Zurich, Switzerland, and at the Laboratoire Matériaux et Phénomènes Quantiques of Université Paris Diderot-Paris7, France. Since 2008, she has been a researcher at the Institute of Applied Physics, National Research Council in Florence, Italy, where she has been working on solid-state lasers based on transparent polycrystalline ceramics and crystals with emission in the infrared and visible regions. Since 2020 Pirri has been an Italian project manager (ISIPM-base). In 2017, she earned a National Academic Qualification as an assistant professor in Experimental Physics of Matter and currently teaches at the University of Florence as an adjunct professor.
